Kellie Delaney has negotiated contracts for small businesses, acted as corporate counsel for a young technology company, and served as in-house litigation case manager for a large health care provider. She enjoys helping nonprofits with formation and governance matters and has obtained 501(c)(3) status for numerous nonprofits, including a church and school. Her professional experiences are diverse: corporate attorney, lecturer in the writing program at UCSB, writer, product manager, and business owner. She works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kellie has served as a pro bono attorney for the ABA Immigration Justice Project in San Diego and the Social Justice Collaborative in Oakland. She was a founding board member and serves as an officer of SYV Fruit & Vegetable Rescue (“Veggie Rescue”), a nonprofit that gleans and redirects the “last harvests” from farms and farmer’s markets to charitable organizations and schools in Santa Barbara County, helping to improve nutrition for children and people rebuilding their lives (www.veggierescue.org).
She graduated with honors from California Western School of Law, where she was also awarded Problem-Solving and Dean’s Merit scholarships. While studying at Cal Western, Kellie had the privilege to serve as judicial intern for Hon. Michael B. Orfield (Ret.) at San Diego Superior Court. She holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from UC Irvine.
Born in Los Angeles, Kellie has lived all over the state of California. She is fortunate to travel through life with her talented husband and a sweet old dog. Outside work, she pursues passions for cooking, music, hiking, skiing, theater, friendships, traveling, and first novels.
